A Brief History of IST

A key strength of the Inner Space Techniques is that they are based on meditative techniques. This foundation allows people to reach deep experiences and personal realizations beyond the level of the ordinary mind.

The meditation techniques themselves have been developed over a period of 20 years by a core group of experienced meditators at the Clairvision School of Meditation, and by its founder Samuel Sagan, MD, PhD.

The Clairvision School of Meditation

The school's focus is to give meditation training at a high level. To this end it has developed systematic step-by-step techniques which bring deep experiences of meditative states with integrity. The school is about substance and direct experience, not cheap talk. See for yourself, know for yourself, experience for yourself.

Samuel Sagan, the founder of the school was born in Paris and started practicing meditation during his teens. He studied medicine at the Paris Faculty of Medicine and Sanskrit at Censier Sorbonne Nouvelle University. At first he focused on neurosurgery and psychiatry but became disenchanted with the practice of conventional medicine and after completing his medical degree (M.D.) he studied under a Taoist master, acquiring degrees in acupuncture and homeopathy and practiced medicine in France with a focus on alternative therapies and healing. He then went on to complete a Doctorate of Medicine on the topic of subtle bodies in the Hindu tradition.

It is from this rich and fertile ground of conventional medicine, complementary and alternative healing therapies and deep spaces of meditation that the Inner Space Techniques were born.
